The modern best-seller Wave+ has all the essential tools of the original. All tools can be opened and locked quickly and conveniently. The Wave+ has the replaceable wire cutters which is a nice feature if you do a lot of wire cutting. However, the trade off is you lose some strength in the pliers jaw. If you like the Wave+ but are concerned with the strength of the pliers we recommend the 2nd Generation Wave.
