Gerber MPT – Military Provisional Tool) – Black Oxide was rolled out in the early 1990’s as a surprise by Gerber. It was the first butterfly style multitool Gerber released and was a direct competitor to Leatherman’s PST for US Government contracts and the Gerber MPT won the contract.
